The objectives of the Wise5G project are to demonstrate via the development, implementation, installation and a service pilot, the enhanced performance of a 5G oriented connectivity on-board of Ferry Vessels using Ka HTS and Ku satellite connectivity. The project, led by IES-Italia, is oriented to offer a broadband mobile service to the maritime segment, introducing a full virtual network (slice) which allows the extension of the broadband services, present in the terrestrial mobile networks (4G, 4,5G Wi-Fi, etc.) and in view of the 5G extension, as soon as the network architecture will be available.
